We Are UniKL

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Italy Design Institute UniKL MIDI was established on 18 February 2018 with the mission of being a “Centre of Excellence for Creative Design”. Our focus now is wider with additional of manufacturing (Industry Revolution 4.0 – IR 4.0), technology management and rail industries, strategic industries that are in sought of highly skilled talents by employers.

History

Wholly owned by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), the university is given the mandate to upgrade the status of technical education in Malaysia by the government. It is an advanced technical training center in the fields of engineering technology specializing in design, manufacturing and railways which are fully supported by the Malaysian government

Asia Rail Centre
With the concept of ‘One Institute, One Specialisation’, UniKL contributes not only to tertiary education but also researches and development for commercialisation purposes.

On 23 March 2016, MARA established what became the first national higher institute focusing on rail technology, the Asia Rail Centre under the purview of UniKL. It offers professional courses, licensed programmes and customised courses for the professional development of the rail industry workforce in Malaysia. Asia Rail will act as a Centre of Excellence for the rail industry to cater to future demand for quality human capital in the nation and region.
