The Malaysia Rail Industry Corporation (MARIC) was established as an incorporated association in 2017 with the mission of contributing to the development of Malaysia’s railway systems engineering sector. MARIC’s membership is open to all companies operating in Malaysia that have a local office and are involved in railway systems engineering and related works. Companies engaged in public transportation, communication, transit-oriented development, and railway infrastructure construction are also encouraged to join as members.

UniKL Malaysia China Institute (MCI), based in Kuala Lumpur, was officially approved on 29 November 2023 following a bilateral Malaysia–China agreement. Operating under MARA’s mandate, MCI advances TVET in alignment with emerging high-technology sectors while shaping Malaysia’s future high-tech workforce in areas such as EV technology, AI, telecommunications, renewable energy, rail engineering, automation, and digitalization, reinforcing UniKL’s role as Malaysia’s leading HTVET institution.

UniKL’s engagement with China dates back to 2016 through collaborations with Beijing Jiaotong University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Hunan Vocational College of Railway Technology, and other Chinese industry and academic institutes, involving academic exchange, joint syllabus development, international competitions, and faculty technical missions forming the firm foundation of MCI’s ongoing direction and strategic growth.

XCEL ITECH SDN BHD was incorporated in Year 2004, initially offering services in wired and wireless networking solutions.
In the latter year the company focuses on emerging technology in mobile/portable wireless (GSM,3G and Wi-Fi) to enhance the existing equipment/products toward a better connectivity. Potential applications are LED matrix Digital Display/score Board, GSM/GPS based Vehicle tracking devices and remote metering system. We also are involved in trading and installation services for desktop digital CCTV system, GSM based Wireless House Alarm and Fingerprint Time Attendance and Door Access System.

At the end of 2011, XCEL ITECH refocuses its business into Simulation, System Development and Integration, Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training. This is based on vast experience of it employees in simulation project in Malaysia such as ACV300 Tank Simulator, CN-235 Aircraft Simulator, Sukhoi Aircraft Simulator and Mine Warfare Command Control And Support System (MWCCSS).
