There are two programs under design engineering technology; which are Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Hons) in Industrial Design and Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Hons) in Product Design.  The unique four-year design engineering technology degree courses are designed to expose students to design processes that encourage creativity, skilled craftsmanship, aesthetic expression, deeper understanding of complex problems, critical-thinking skills and interdisciplinary approaches.

The course work provides students with the skills necessary to execute projects from initial concept to completion of working prototypes. Students studying product design will follow the basic mechanical engineering curriculum with some additional course work in studio design. Students will be exposed to the basic and advanced engineering tools, as well as the idea creation through artistic visualization. Graduates will be an industrial designer and product engineer who understands the market opportunity, interprets market requirements, and is well-versed in technology and development processes.
